Crane Operator - North Sea

Our client requires an experienced offshore Crane Operator for their Jack-Up operations in the North Sea.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience (prefarably on Jack-Up rigs).


Responsibilities:

The Crane Operator is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the cranes, and in addition to this, manages the Roustabouts. He /she supervises that all activities are carried out in accordance with the Barge Engineer or Assistant Barge Engineer’s instructions, and delivers essential on the job crew training within lifting and slinging.

Our client, a leading offshore Accomodation Jack-Up contractor, is looking for an experienced ETO for their operations in the North Sea.

 

Responsibilites:

  • Knowledge of the hazards and risks associated with offshore work and importance of TRA’s, TbT, PtW and other regulations, procedures and checklists ensuring safe operations.
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements, conventions, and other authoritative institutions concerning offshore work and electrical/electro-technical systems.
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System, Emergency response procedures, related systems and the functionality of fire-fighting and other safety equipment.
  • Practical, electrical and technical knowledge of the construction, functionality, maintenance and required certification of the vessel, marine (mechanical and electrical) installations and associated systems, and understands their influence on workplace safety.
  • Basic theoretical knowledge on electrical and electro-technical systems associated with (hydraulic, pneumatic) machinery, automated control systems, power electronics, instruments, alarms, power distribution and other electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting on (electronical/electrical) equipment, and safe isolation of equipment prior to maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of the maintenance principles on electrical and electro-technical equipment (including navigational and high voltage) and associated safety precautions and material properties.

Online Surveyor

AF000813/Survey & Inspection/Angola/Negotiable depending on experience /Starting date: 11th July 2017


Our client requires an Offshore Survey Engineer mobilising 10th July for 4-6 weeks in Angola. The surveyor is required to complete acoustic positioning of trencher and cable lay barge. The Surveyor must be proficient with:

 

  • Satellite positioning – either CNav or Veripos
  • Acoustic positioning – Sonardyne Range USBL system
  • Software – Eiva
  • Shore based terrestrial survey – Leica total station and Trimble back-pack RTK GPS system
  • IXSea Gaps
  • Able to work on their own – previous experience essential
  • Good technical knowledge – there may be a dive tech on site, but no other surveyors to assist.
